This conference was technically sponsored by the Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The first conference, iCBBE2007, was held in Wuhan University, Wuhan, China. iCBBE2008 was co-sponsored by IEEE EMBS, Shanghai Jiaotong University, and Wuhan University. Dr. Huaibei Zhou from Wuhan University (China), Dr. Kuo-Chen Chou from Gordon Life Science Institute (USA), and Dr. Dongqing Wei from Shanghai Jiaotong University (China) chaired the iCBBE2008.
