Abstract

The structure of pentagonal Frank-Kasper phases can be recovered from the projection of a common MgCu2 cube described in a six-dimensional space. From the close structural relationship between the newly discovered icosahedral quasicrystal and the Frank-Kasper phases, a structure model has been proposed for the former.
