The social equity of energy parameters: the Romanian case The social equity in the energy field (energy equity) refers to energy accessibility and affordability across population. The main objectives of this research are to establish in what extent the energy equity is present in Romania and what strategic measures could be adopted in the country in order to improve it. This paper analysis the objectives proposed by the European Union in the energy field and the requirements for ensuring energy security. In addition, this small-scale research discusses the population's accessibility to energy, its affordability in Romania, and other indicators on this topic using the data from international and national statistics. The results indicate only few developed studies and data on social equity in the EU's energy field. Furthermore, the findings suggest improvements of the energy equity in the past few years in Romania, because of the increase of affordability across population.
