In recent years, supply chain management (SCM) has emerged as a powerful tool in the business process management arsenal. However, there are in practice few examples of companies, which have adopted an integrated systems' approach, implementing all aspects of SCM. The purpose of this article is to investigate supplier management practices in the context of SCM. For this purpose, a survey was conducted in the Greek manufacturing industry examining the degree of supplier management implementation in five key SCM categories. Research results, which represent buyers' point of view, highlight the strong and weak areas of supplier management implementation in the SCM context.
