In view of the shortcomings of wake-up method for active sleeping node in wireless sensor networks, such as short network life and poor synchronisation accuracy, awake-up method for active sleeping node based on partial coverage application is proposed. This method firstly judges the node status in wireless sensor networks according to the data transmission/reception situation. If the data transmission/reception fails, the network will suffer. There are active sleeping nodes, which need to send wake-up packets periodically to the judged active sleeping nodes to realise the wake-up of active sleeping nodes in wireless sensor networks. Experimental results show that the proposed method can wake up active sleep nodes in wireless sensor networks when the network life is long and the synchronisation accuracy is higher than 80%.
