Research on the sustainable development-oriented regional logistic planning

Research on the sustainable development-oriented regional logistic planning As logistic theory and practice have not paid much attention to the development of logistics under the sustainable development background in China, this paper takes Yibin, a city lying on upriver Yangtze River in the western China, as an example. It puts forward the logistic planning method, which looks at sustainable development on the basis of environmental capacity evaluation with the goal of providing a scientific reference to reasonable logistic planning of the area or similar areas, effective protection of the ecological environment, regional planning and comprehensive consideration of development. This method covers a broadly defined environmental capacity concept and uses atmosphere, water and land as measures in terms of sustainable development to calculate, analyse and appraise environmental capacity. It considers environmental logistic industry that the capacity restrains from the plan models to propose, with the master plan and industry arrangement of the city as well as its nature, economics, transportation and infrastructure. The city is divided into different zones by functions and the logistic planning tailored to the area is implemented. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png International Journal of Services Operations and Informatics Inderscience Publishers

Abstract

As logistic theory and practice have not paid much attention to the development of logistics under the sustainable development background in China, this paper takes Yibin, a city lying on upriver Yangtze River in the western China, as an example.
