Let developers run into the app store by lowering the barrier-to-entry

Let developers run into the app store by lowering the barrier-to-entry An app store has a two-sided market composed of a developer-side and consumer-side. If the developer-side expands, consumers' willingness to access is increased in the app store market. Therefore, we argue that the expansion of the developer-side is one of the key elements for the success of an app store. This paper identifies the variables affecting the expansion of the developer-side such as developers' motives and analyses their impacts on global app stores using the Analytic Network Process (ANP). Finally, this paper briefly discusses the implications of its main findings for the success of an app store in the market. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png International Journal of Electronic Finance Inderscience Publishers

Abstract

An app store has a two-sided market composed of a developer-side and consumer-side.
