Knowledge-based new product development system

Knowledge-based new product development system This research article proposes a knowledge-based new product development system which will play a major role in creative industries. The related literature review points out that the process of knowledge management (KM) based on a `spiral' of knowledge creation (SECI process) affects the performance of new product development (NPD) because knowledge creation is considered to be a principal source of competitive advantage in organisations for the NPD process. The methodology of this research was conducted by literature review, expert interview, development of a conceptual model and process design, certification of the conceptual model and process design by qualified experts, development of a knowledge-based new product development system and user acceptance test. The research instrument contains an IOC (Index of Congruence) of interview questions, conceptual model-process design certification and user acceptance test. The collected data was analysed by content analysis through a triangulation technique with IOC evaluation. As a result, knowledge-oriented new product development model (KO-NPD model) as a conceptual model has been proposed. This discovery consists of: 1) plan and define, 2) product design, 3) clear concept, 4) proof of concept, 5) process design, 6) process validation, and 7) feedback. And then, the author proposes the process design, http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png International Journal of Knowledge Management Studies Inderscience Publishers

Abstract

This research article proposes a knowledge-based new product development system which will play a major role in creative industries. And then, the author proposes the process design,
