The research is aimed at predicting the consumer behaviour towards eco-friendly cars. The paper analysis the triadic relationship between awareness, attitude and behaviour and proposes a model based on the same using structural equation modelling (SEM). As a part of the research, data was collected from 1,067 car owners of Pune and Aurangabad. The results were compared and analysed to predict the car owners' behaviour. The result shows that awareness and attitude of the car owners towards the environment positively impact sustainable action and their behaviour. The strength of the relationship between attitude and behaviour is more than the strength of the relationship between awareness and behaviour, indicating that attitude of the car owner plays a significant role in the triadic relationship. The model supported the idea that the awareness of environmental issues during manufacturing, use and disposal of the automobiles changes the attitudes of people.
