Guest editorial Guest editorial Sustainable transformation of low-income communities: multidisciplinary approach to scalable solutions This Special Issue aims to addresses three of the United Nations goals for sustainable development: � Goal 6: clean water and sanitation. � Goal 7: affordable and clean energy. � Goal 11: sustainable cities and communities. These goals highlight the need for a radical transformation of low-income communities in the least developed countries. The issue extols the virtue of approaching the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from the inter- and transdisciplinary perspectives approach for a holistic solution to sustainable development challenges in low-income countries. This is to ensure the equality of access and outcome of sustainable growth and development captured in the SDGs of ensuring no one is left behind (UN, 2016).
