Abstract

Playfair built two houses at Lurgan in Northern Ireland, Drumbanagher for Maxwell Close, and Brownlow House (later renamed Lurgan House) for his brother-in-law Charles Brownlow, later Baron Lurgan. This article identifies a splendid Greek-style preliminary scheme for Brownlow House, Jound in the Playfair drawings collections of the RIAS and Edinburgh University Library.
