They were held at the General Register House, the National Library of Scotland, the Royal Incorporation of Architects in Scotland's headquarters, and the National Monuments Record of Scotland. The publications here under review were the fruits of three of these exhibitions, but none is strictly a catalogue, and, consequently, they can be judged on their own merits. formats of the three works reflect their very different contents. covers the whole of Adam's life; Brown's concentrates on one the publication of Diocletian's palace at Split in Croatia; the third approaches project, Adam's architecture from a multitude of angles in fifteen essays by thirteen contributors (including Brown and Sanderson).
