Queer positions, Queering Asian Studies

Queer positions, Queering Asian Studies What does it mean to say that positions opened up a space for queer intellectual work? How do we delineate that space? How does this space work in articulation with queering Asian studies more broadly? This essay addresses how the journal positions created the intellectual space for a queer Marxism within Asian studies. The journal enabled scholars to bring together questions of desire with critiques of capitalism and of racialized geopolitics. Abstract

What does it mean to say that positions opened up a space for queer intellectual work? How do we delineate that space? How does this space work in articulation with queering Asian studies more broadly? This essay addresses how the journal positions created the intellectual space for a queer Marxism within Asian studies. The journal enabled scholars to bring together questions of desire with critiques of capitalism and of racialized geopolitics.
