Glenn Holland holds the Bishop James Mills Thoburn Chair of Religious Studies at Allegheny College. COMMON KNOWLEDGE Hilary Putnam is the Cogan University Professor at Harvard University. A fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and a corresponding fellow of the British Academy, he has served as president of the American Philosophical Association. He is also the author of several books, including, most recently, Renewing Philosophy and Pragmatism. Paul A. Roth, professor of philosophy at the University of Missouri, St. Louis, is the author of Meaning and Method in the Social Sciences: A Case for Methodological Pluralism. Don Seeman is lecturer in anthropology and an Alon Fellow at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
