Overall, however, this textbook is at least as trustworthy and user-friendly as other English-language surveys of Korean history from ancient times to the pres ent day and includes more information. Anyone planning on teaching a one- or two-semester survey of Korean history should include Michael Seth's A Hi story of Korea among the textbooks considered for assigning to the students. Its merits far outweigh any demerits it may have. NO TE I.
