Drawing on multiple disciplinary trajectories, the eight articles included in the spring 2018 issue of the Journal of Korean Studies explore topics related to edu- cation, multiculturalism, neoliberalism, conservation, sexuality, gender, labor, sub- empire, consumption, commuter networks, and domestic space. We look forward to the fall 2018 thematic issue, “Science and Literature in North and South Korea,” guest edited by Dafna Zur (Stanford University) and Chris Hanscom (University of California, Los Angeles). We have now concluded the transition to the journal’s new publisher, Duke Uni- versity Press. We are grateful to our partners at Duke for working closely with us over the past year to ensure a smooth transfer and look forward to the heightened profile Duke offers the growing body of outstanding Korea-related scholarship available in English. We would like to take this chance to offer special thanks to Kami Day, who did a superb job as copy editor over the past year. Publication of the Journal of Korean Studies is made possible by a generous grant from the Academy of Korean Studies.
