There are multiple reasons for that, and the variety of purposes, for which genres were analysed, together with the exceptionally dynamic nature of generic forms in communication are definitely two of many arguments supporting this claim. The publication Analyzing Genres in Political Communication is an attempt to provide an overview of most contemporary theoretical, methodological and empirical contributions to the research on genres in political discourse from a number of standpoints, such as applied linguistics, media studies, cognitive psychology, pragmatics, critical discourse studies and applied linguistics, to name just a few.
