Natural substances as botanical medicines, flavouring agents or chemical sources form a big challenge for the professional as well as general society. This liable position brings several issues as collection, cultivation, production, conservation, protection, standardization and sustainability. This are just some of the reasons while discussion and experience exchange are needed. The scientists have met at the International Scientific Conference on the Medicinal, Aromatic and Spice Plants. This relay started in 2007 at the Slovak University of Agriculture in Nitra. The 2nd International Scientific Conference was held in 2011 at the same place in Nitra together with the 16th workshop of the Sections of Natural Drugs of the Slovak Pharmaceutical Society located in Bratislava. Current, the 3rd International Scientific Conference on the Medicinal, Aromatic and Spice Plants is another step forward. It is strengthening the cooperation with the Comenius University in Bratislava and its Faculty of Pharmacy. It takes place in interesting natural environment of the High Tatras, in Kezmarské Zaby recreational facility. The 20th workshop of the Sections of Natural Drugs of Slovak Pharmaceutical Society is also a part of this conference. Every participant becomes this supplement as an overview of abstracts of all presented presentations or posters. I acknowledge and appreciate the contribution of the scientific and organisation committee of the conference. They have made a significant contribution to assuring the quality of this publication. Furthermore I believe that the exchanges of the latest results of scientific research contribute to the mutual enrichment of the results in the field of pharmacy, pharmacognosy, production and processing of medicinal, aromatic and spice plants.
