About the Vinaver Trust

About the Vinaver Trust The Vinaver Trust (the Eugène Vinaver Fund) was established as a charity in 1981, thanks to royalties received by the British Branch of the International Arthurian Society following their endorsement of a set of Arthurian plates made by a Swiss ceramics firm. The key objective of the Trust is ‘to advance the education of the public in the life and times of King Arthur through historical and archaeological research and to disseminate the results of such research’. The Trust thus offers grants to aid the publication of scholarly works in the field of Arthurian studies. Since 2001, thanks to the generosity of a distinguished Arthurian academic Ray Barron, it also offers grants for postgraduate study for research degrees under the terms of the Barron Bequest. In the thirty-six years of its existence, the Vinaver Trust has offered financial support for over eighty books to a large number of publishers in at least ten countries, amounting to more than £115,000 in total, and has also supported over twenty postgraduate researchers.Support the Vinaver TrustThe income of the Vinaver Trust derives largely from interest from its capital sums and from royalties earned from the publications it supports.
