Some Kind of Justice: The icty ’s Impact in Bosnia and Serbia Diane Orentlicher (Oxford University Press, 2018) It has been over 25 years since the International Criminal Tribunal for the F - or mer Yugoslavia (‘the icty ’) was established by UN Security Council Resolution 827. 1 Since that time, there have been a multitude of books, academic articles and conference papers produced by leading academic scholars or icty em- ployees on the icty ’s ground-breaking jurisprudence. The Tadić case2 and the trial of Slobodan Milosevic 3 are now required legal reading for any student with an interest in international humanitarian and criminal law icty . The ’s very existence played a part in the creation of other international criminal tri - bunals, eventually leading to the creation of the International Criminal Court itself. The impact of the icty will be felt in international legal circles for g - en erations to come, and much has been written about its jurisprudence, its early steps and the legal legacy it has left. What there has been less of is in-depth, impeccably researched analysis of the icty ’s impact on the societies and countries that gave rise to its creation:
