KRŸZHITSKII Investigations of the Berezan settlement have permitted the collection of a large quantity of information on houses from the last quarter of the 6 th century and the 5 th century BC. This applies fi rstly to the nature of the structures and to the building in general. Secondly opportunities have arisen to discuss ques- tions connected with the lay-out of some of the dwellings already excavated, which, in our opinion, have not always been resolved in a su ffi ciently con- vincing way. In other words, scholars’ conclusions have not always proved compatible with published drawings and those currently stored in archives.
