Prior to that, he had several research and teaching positions at the German Department of the University of Stuttgart. He wrote his PhD in philosophy of language at the University of Heidelberg. His main scientifi c interest is the semantics- pragmatics interface. He has published on the following topics: diff erential object marking, specifi city, Hungarian focus, free choice disjunction, and dis- course particles. He co-organized several workshops, including “Sinn und Bedeutung” (2008) in Stuttgart, and “Focus marking strategies and focus interpretation” (2009) in Osnabrück. Anna Volodina wrote her PhD on causal and conditional connectives in German at the University of Heidelberg in 2007. Currently, she works as a researcher at the Institute of Linguistics at the Goethe-University of Frankfurt. She held positions at the University of Kassel and at the Institute of German Language (IDS) in Mannheim as a member of the project “Handbook of German Connectives”.
