From the Editors

From the Editors FROM THE EDITORS Recent years have not been the best for our journal. Its issues have not always come out on time and its articles were not always meticulously prepared for publication. On occasion the choice of published articles was not well justiŽ ed: for example, some articles already published in Russian in other journals (sometimes a few years earlier) were republished unchanged. The majority of the articles were by Russian and Ukrainian scholars, while the work of foreign scholars was scarce. All these shortcomings lowered the high standards typical of the early years of the journal. This situation must be rectiŽ ed as soon as possible. Accordingly, the editors of the journal and Brill Publishing House have decided to carry through a number of changes in order to improve the standard of our journal and the quality of its publications. First of all, we have decided to broaden the subjects treated in the journal. As before, publications dealing with ancient cultures of the North and East Pontic areas, Eurasian Steppes, Caucasus, Siberia and former Soviet Republics of Central Asia will be the center of our attention. However, we will also welcome articles dealing with the neighbouring territories, http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Ancient Civilizations from Scythia to Siberia Brill
