ISBN 2-906053-86-4 This new work by an outstanding expert in the fi eld of amphora stamps, Yvon Garlan, has been published as part of the international project Corpus international des timbres amphoriques directed by him. This monograph is a corpus of stamps from Sinope, found in the territory of Sinope and its environs. The corpus includes a total of 638 varieties of stamps known from fi nds of 1080 specimens (1045 on the handles of amphorae and 35 on tiles). All these stamps have been included in the detailed cat- alogue (pp. 101-256), in which, apart from a description and short commentary on each stamp, references are provided to previous publications of the stamps of the type in question (including the manuscript of IOSPE III).
