Ἀνωνύµου σύγγραµµα περὶ µουσικῆς (Anonymi Bellermann)

Ἀνωνύµου σύγγραµµα περὶ µουσικῆς (Anonymi Bellermann) In 1841, Friedrich Bellermann published two treatises about Greek music, the Anonymi scriptio de musica and Bacchii senioris introductio artis musicae (Bellermann 1841). While the second treatise belongs to some Dionysius, a Byzantine musicologist of the time of Constantine Porphyrogenetos (912-959; new edition Tertsēs 2010), the first treatise is an agglomeration of five musical handbooks (new edition Najock 1972 and 1975). The available manuscript tradition of the respective headings and the beginnings and the content of the different components make it possible to disentangle the alleged σύγγραµµα into its parts and to describe the original treatises accurately. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Greek and Roman Musical Studies Brill

Abstract

In 1841, Friedrich Bellermann published two treatises about Greek music, the Anonymi scriptio de musica and Bacchii senioris introductio artis musicae (Bellermann 1841).
