CSL 2008 Special Issue This special issue of ACM Transactions on Computational Logic is devoted to papers rst presented at the 17th Annual Conference of the European Association for Computer Science Logic (CSL 2008), held September 16â19, 2008, in Bertinoro, near Bologna (Italy). We selected a small number of papers presented at the conference and invited the authors to submit extended and revised versions to this special issue. All submissions have undergone the standard refereeing process of this journal. The seven articles in this issue are good representatives of the research in the area at the intersection of logic and computer science. Their subjects span from foundations of theorem proving and of model checking, to complexity of logical problems and its relation to programming languages, to λ-calculus and proof-theory. They well re ect the vitality, the technical dif culty, the quality, and the broad range of computer science logic, both as a research eld and as a speci c conference. We thank all the authors for their excellent papers, the member of the CSL 2008 Program Committee and the reviewers for their generous work on the papers, and Vladimir Lifschitz, Editor-in-Chief of ACM ToCL, for making this special issue possible.
