Abstract Feb. 24, 1960 To the Editor: Thank you for your letter of Feb. 19. Cerumenex Drops were withdrawn in early December because, since its sale was permitted over the counter, it was felt that closer physician control over its use was indicated by making it a prescription item. This change-over has been accomplished and it is once more available on this basis. The formulation has not been changed but, on the basis of our experience with it, cautions have been added. These include circumspection in its prescription for patients with allergic histories, since we found that a high percentage of the reactions were in patients who had histories of previous allergies; its contraindication where there is disease of the external and middle ear; and its contraindication in patients who have had reactions to it. We feel that cautions of this type will materially reduce even the small number of reactions http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png A.M.A. Journal of Diseases of Children American Medical Association
