Isolated Dissecting Aneurysms

Isolated Dissecting Aneurysms Abstract The purpose of this report is to present an unusual lesion—isolated fatal dissecting aneurysm of the left coronary artery, associated with similar dissecting lesions in the superior mesenteric artery and the left renal artery. Report of Case The patient was a 51-year-old deaf-mute who apparently was in good health until Feb. 11, 1957. At this time he consulted his family doctor with the complaint of nausea and vomiting of one day's duration associated with mild abdominal pain. There was no hematemesis or melena, and no other complaints were elicited. Physical examination revealed a man who appeared his stated age, was completely deaf, and did not appear acutely ill. Blood pressure was 148/86, pulse 72, and temperature 98.2. Except for very slight tenderness to palpation across the lower abdomen, the physical examination was otherwise completely negative. He was given an oral penicillin preparation and apparently recovered completely. The evening of Feb. References 1.
