New England Botanical Club 120th Anniversary Research Conference ANNOUNCEMENT NEW ENGLAND BOTANICAL CLUB 120th ANNIVERSARY RESEARCH CONFERENCE New England Botanical Club, one of the oldest continuously active botanical societies in North America, is pleased to announce an upcoming Research Conference in celebration of its 120th anniversary. The conference will take place at Smith College, Northampton, Massachusetts from June 5­7, 2015. The conference will begin on Friday evening with a reception at the Smith College Greenhouses and Botanical Garden. Northampton has many restaurants, attractions, and great accommodations nearby, and lies at the heart of a hotspot of botanical diversity in the Connecticut River Valley. On June 6, botanists from around northeastern North America will present their activities and research. Students, faculty, and independent researchers can showcase their botanical research by presenting posters and talks. Dr. Pamela Diggle, Editor-in-Chief, American Journal of Botany and Past President, the Botanical Society of America, will deliver the keynote address. On Sunday morning, meeting at Smith College's LEED-certified Archibald MacLeish Field Station, leaders of botanical societies will brainstorm on opportunities for future research and collaboration. Conference attendees can also participate in a botanical foray of the field station.
