OPENING REMARKS AND MOTIONS named 3 major goals that Allen Press has been pursuing this past year and continues to pursue for 2017–2018: President Gerald W. Esch called the meeting to order at 8:09 AM and noted that a quorum was present. President Esch (1) Increase submissions; made a few opening remarks and Council members and other (2) Decrease the price of open access, which is now $750/yr for attendees introduced themselves. He recognized the new officers members and $1,000/yr for non-members; (3) Slow the attrition of Institutional subscriptions; there are for 2017–2018: President, Susan Perkins; President-Elect, John 223 for 2017, so far, but the goal is to have 238.
