This paper aims to analyze and discuss the relationship between politics and administration within the bureaucracy, the sources of bureaucratic power, the level of politicization of the public bureaucracy, the weaknesses and inefficiencies of bureaucracy, and the values of formalized bureaucracy. Scholarly research reveals strong correlations between the political theory of bureaucratic organization, the structural details of bureaucracy, political control of the bureaucracy, the decisionmaking environment faced by bureaucrats, and administrative procedures as instruments of political control of the bureaucracy.
